RE:Release of ISL players for the National Team

Your letter dated August 23.2012 refers.

With regard to the contents of your letter, I would like to explain the circumstances that have led to the ISL clubs preventing their players from representing the Indonesian national team.

KPSI and the ISL clubs are fully aware of the relevant provision in the FIFA Regulation on the Status and Transfer of Players that prohibits any arrangements between a player and his club that prevents him from being released for national team duty.

However, these rules make the release conditional upon the dates listed in the FIFA International Match Calendar(International "A" matches).

しかし、これらのルールはFIFA国際試合カレンダー(インターナショナル "A"の試合)に記載されている日付に応じてリリースを条件付きにする

The PSSI requested the release of players for a friendly match against Spanish club Valencia CF. The match was scheduled to be played in Jakarta on August 4, 2012. This date was not a fixed date for official matches or friendly matches in the FIFA International Match Calendar and therefore, the ISL clubs were not under a duty to release their players as per Article 1 par. 3of Annexe 1 of FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players.

PSSI also requested the ISL clubs to release their players five days before the match and also claimed that August 5, 2012(the day after the Valencia match) that there players had to report to a Training Camp. There clear violations of the FIFA regulations deem PSSI's action void and illegal and is a clear example of PSSI's total lack of knowledge of the FIFA regulations and directives. It must also be stated that the PSSI also lacks knowledge of their awn Statutes and regulation.
